Matt Weber is a founder and currently serves as Executive Vice President of Engineering of VTX Energy Partners, LLC.  Prior to that, he served as Reservoir Engineering Manager of Brigham Resources, LLC from 2013 until the sale of substantially all of its southern Delaware Basin assets to Diamondback Energy in February 2017.

Prior to joining the Brigham team in 2013, Matt served in a variety of roles at EXCO Resources from 2007 to 2013, most notably as Completions Supervisor for the Haynesville Shale team when the company was operating 22 drilling rigs and four frac crews in the play.  Matt’s team was responsible for designing and optimizing completions as the Company’s gross operated Haynesville production grew from zero to over 1 BCF/D in less than three years.

Matt started his career at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in 2004 and served as a production engineer for the Rockies coalbed methane development team and as a completions engineer for the North Louisiana HP/HT team.

Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering with highest honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 2004.
